Nyc half marathon training run 17/45

Distance: 6.03 mi; Time 49'; Pace: 8'08" min/mi; Ave BPM, 153; Steps, 7,499

Sorry for the blurred picture but I was running and trying to take the picture to calculate my pace later.

Another day, another boring treadmill run. Since the weather has been "warm" for the last few days, I think that most of the snow from the blizzard would have melted by the weekend. The snow melting will be great, because I can start running in real road and outdoor conditions, rather than in the comforts of the gym.

Today's run was made up of the following:

  • 2 miles easy (I incorporated a 0.25 mile warm up)
  • 2 miles fast @ 8'15" min/mi ( I tried run between 7'50" - 8' min/mi
  • 2 miles easy ( I did the last mile fast)

The run was great ... for a treadmill run and I am getting closer to my 8' min/mi pace that I am aiming to achieve for the Half. Obviously, I will have to see if I can run this pace on the streets. Fingers crossed.

I will say the best part of the run was stewing in the sauna for a few minutes. Oh random, I was VERY disappointed that my Crunch gym did not have soap in any of the showers. I had to shower with freakin shampoo. NOT COOL.

Song of the run. This song was selected because I did a music shuffle (instead of playlist) and "Ojos asi" popped up.
