Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) – Denmark 🇩🇰

Reddi – The Show

Final Thoughts:

I think that I’m on the fence between two and three stars for this one. It’s a catchy tune, but it’s not really moving me. Maybe this is because I listen to this song right after a really powerful and strong performance from Australia. For some reason, it gives me too much of an early 2000s vibe, which a lot of people love. To be perfectly honest, I think that I would have preferred if it stayed more a piano ballad. I have to admit that I lost interest once the lead singer left the piano. Then again, I feel like if this is going to be a rock anthem, then the piano intro should be a bit shorter. Hey, I’m fickle Perhaps, this one will grow on me after I listen to it a few more times.

Denmark in last year’s Eurovision

FYR OG FLAMME – ØVE OS PÅ HINANDEN (PRACTICE ON EACH OTHER)

  • Semi-final results: 11th place out of 17 performances (89 total points – 9 national juries and 80 public votes)

  • Final results: Since they did not land in the top 10, they did not advance to the final

I could not find any live ESC performances for this one

At first, I did not care for this song at all, but it found a special place in my heart . . . eventually While watching the semi-final, I kind of knew that the group was not going to qualify, but I am a bit surprised with the number of public votes that the song received. Then again, a good chunk of the public votes came from other Scandinavian countries (Iceland, 12 – the max and Finland, 8).

I looked up the Danish lyrics, and I’m a bit surprised that a song about a man and woman dancing did not have well . . . more dancing. That said, you can tell that they were really enjoying themselves while performing the song.
